Garner Graveyard

This is a abandoned cemetery, but does still existes, I was told last Sunday, (May 18) it is located behind a set of locked gates on land belonging to Briarfield Iron Works, there in Bibb Co. During my "hunt" for it, I was sent to the home of Mr. Zeke Fancher who is a young 90 yrs old and lives with his son, who also is named Zeke Fancher, (HE was wonderful) they live in sight of the cemetery

Garner Graveyard----------------Family Plot

, which is located in a grove of woods, just off of Hyw 25. My family (the Garners) owned this land at the time the cemetery was established.

16 Miles North from Centreville off Ala. Hwy #25, and one mile after crossing Mahan Creek. Turn Right off paved Rd. (this is where the locked gates are, was a lane here at one time) and go 1/2 mile due South.

Garner, Sally, Consort of M.A.J. (John) Garnerdied Mar. 01, 1846, age 32 yrs & 8 months [my note: his second wife, she was Sarah Lovelady.]

Garner, Nancy, Dau. of J. & Nancy Garner, Died Oct. 30, 1829 - age 2 yrs 3 mos. 26 da. [dau. by his first wife]

Garner, Nancy, Consort of M.A.J. (John) Garner, Died July 05 1827 - Age 34 yrs 8 mos. & 7 days, [John's first wife, Nancy Herd, they were married in Elbert Co. Ga.]

Garner, M.A.J. (John), Died Feb. 04, 1865, age 85 yrs & 9 months (he was born in N.C.)

Garner, Rachel, Died Nov. 30, 1849 age 20 yrs, 6 mos. & 10 da.

Williams, Elenor, Died June 09, 1856, age 83 yrs

Garner, Mary J., Died Nov. 30, 1857 - age 26 yrs 2 mos & 7da.
