My GGGGrandfather lived in Bibb County until about 1840.

James Merrick Bishop was born March 20, 1819 in Bibb Co., AL, and died January 13, 1914 in Marion Co., AL. He married Patience Lewis September 14, 1842 in Franklin or Marion Co., AL.

Children of James Bishop and Patience Lewis are:

  • Charles F. Bishop, born Abt. 1845
  • David Hubbard Bishop, born Abt. 1846 in Marion Co., AL; died January 10, 1864

  • Joseph Allen Bishop, born Abt. 1852
  • Thomas R. Bishop, born Abt. 1854
  • Sopa Bishop, born Abt. 1857
  • Noah Bishop, born Abt. 1859
