1810 Cabarrus Co., NC federal census:

p. 137b, line 10:
John HUNT 5 males, all aged 26-45; 0 females; 11 slaves

[The John HUNT who turns up in Bibb Co., AL before 1830 would have been between 30 and 40 years old in 1810. His oldest known child was born ca 1822, so he may not have married until ca 1820. Thus it is POSSIBLE, but by no means certain, that this John HUNT is the same as John HUNT in 1830 Bibb Co., AL.]

1830 Bibb Co., AL federal census:

p.173 John HUNT 1m -5, 2m 5-10, 2m 20-30, 1m 50-60;
1f -5, 1f 5-10, 1f 30-40 (8 slaves)

(no LOGAN or MOSELEY found in 1830 Bibb Co.)

1840 Bibb Co., AL federal census:

consecutive households:
p. 128 (#10) John HUNT 1m 10-15, 1m 15-20, 1m 60-70;
2f 5-10, 1f 40-50 (9 slaves)

p. 128 (#11) Joab MOSELEY 2m -5, 3m 5-10, 2m 10-15, 1m 15-20, 1m 20-30, 1m 40-50;
1f -5, 1f 10-15, 2f 20-30, 1f 30-40 (0 sl)

[Note: this was the only HUNT household and the only MOSELEY household found in 1840 Bibb Co., and they were side by side! John Hunt LOGAN married Lavinia MOSELEY in Bibb Co. in 1838, and Joab was almost certainly her father. I suspect that the male born 1810-20 and one of the females born 1810-20 were John Hunt LOGAN and his wife Lavinia, and that the female born 1835-40 is their oldest daughter Isabella. We have no reason to believe that John H. and Lavinia (MOSELEY) LOGAN ever left Bibb Co., but they do not appear in the 1840 census in their own household-therefore, they probably appear in a different household, and that headed by Lavinia's father is the most likely prospect. The fact that the household of John HUNT (born 1770-80) was next door to that of Joab MOSELEY (born 1790-1800) lends support to our theory that John HUNT was closely connected to John Hunt LOGAN.]

[Note: there's obviously some confusion between #8 and #12 above. Furthermore, I seriously doubt that the children born around 1813 and shortly thereafter were born in Bibb Co. Also, if Joab MOSELEY died in Choctaw Co., AL in 1839, he would not appear in the 1840 Bibb Co., AL census next door to John HUNT. -RAH]
